Just an Observation
An Environmentally Friendly Post

Dating an environmental studies major makes me way more aware of the destruction of the earth than I’d probably like to be!  He tells me about all the problems with the earth’s condition and how no one has stepped forward with a movement to save it.  Other issues are always more important, and the end results of said issues are always more money and profit.  Politicians are always so gung-ho to push issues that “save” make money, but rarely does someone of power try to save the world.  And by world I don’t mean ending world hunger or establishing world peace, but the actual world.  Like… the thing we can’t survive without since it is our habitat.

We do have a lot more “go green” efforts than previous generations of course, but nothing is really significant enough to stop the pollution that is already and continuously created.  For every hybrid car that’s made, there’s probably still hundreds of thousands of regular cars driven everyday.  Old cars too.  Every 4th of July we still shoot massive amounts of fireworks into the air.  I once read an article that read the temperature of the earth decreased by 3 degrees the day after 9/11 when airplanes weren’t flying.  Yet… we still fly hundreds of planes every single day.  It’s just kind of weird that we’re not focused enough on a subject that directly effects humanity as a whole.
